Abstract:
A case of fracture of the hamate combined with dislocation of the fourth and fifth metacarpals is presented. This is a rare injury. Diagnosis and treatment were delayed because the fracture dislocation was initially missed due to lack of familiarity with the injury and inadequate conventional radiographs. Three-dimensional computed tomography scanning (3D-CT) provided definite diagnosis and adequate insight in the relation of fracture parts. Open reduction and fixation with k-wires gave good outcome.
